尼龙66为聚己二酰己二胺,工业简称PA66。半透明或不透明乳白色结晶形聚合物,具有可塑性。密度1.15g/cm3。熔点252℃。脆化温度-30℃。热分解温度大于350℃。 连续耐热80-120℃,平衡吸水率2.5%。能耐酸、碱、大多数无机盐水溶液、卤代烷、烃类、酯类、酮类等腐蚀,但易溶于苯酚、甲酸等极性溶剂。具有优良的耐磨性、自润滑性,机械强度较高。但吸水性较大,因而尺寸稳定性较差。
干燥处理:如果加工前材料是密封的,那么就没有必要干燥。然而,如果储存容器被打开,那么建议在85C的热空气中干燥处理。如果湿度大于0.2%,还需要进行105C,12小时的真空干燥。
熔化温度:260~290C。对玻璃添加剂的产品为275~280C。熔化温度应避免高于300C。
模具温度:建议80C。模具温度将影响结晶度,而结晶度将影响产品的物理特性。

尼龙66的广泛应用:
1.汽车工业
由于尼龙66优良的耐热性、耐化学药品性、强度和加工方便等,因而在汽车工业得到了大量应用,目前几乎已能用于汽车的所有部位,如发动机部位,电器部位和车体部位。发动机部位包括进气系统和燃油系统,如发动机气缸盖罩、节气门、空气滤清器机器外壳,车用空气喇叭、车用空调软管、冷却风扇及其外壳、进水管、刹车油罐及灌盖,等等。车体部位零部件有:汽车挡泥板、后视镜架、保险杠、仪表盘、行李架、车门手柄、雨刷支架、安全带扣搭、车内各种装饰件等等。车内电器方面如电控门窗、连接器、保鲜盒、电缆扎线等。
2.电子电器工业
PA66可生产电子电器绝缘件、精密电子仪器部件、电工照明器具和电子电器的零部件等,可用于制作电饭锅、电动吸尘器、高频电子食品加热器等。PA66具有优良的耐焊锡性,广泛用作接线盒、开关和电阻器等的生产。阻燃级PA66可用于彩电导线夹、固定夹和聚焦旋钮。
3.机械运输和机械设备工业
列车客车的门把手、货车的制动器接合盘等可用PA66制作。其它如绝缘垫圈、挡板座、船舶上的涡轮、螺旋桨轴、螺旋推进器、滑动轴承等也可以用PA66制作。高抗冲击性尼龙66还可制作管钳、塑料模具、无线电控制车身等。未增强级尼龙66通常用于制造低蠕变、无腐蚀的螺母、螺栓、螺钉、喷嘴等;增强级尼龙66用于生产链条、传送带、扇叶、叶轮和脚手架固定脚扣等。
4.其他行业
利用PA66耐蠕变特性和耐溶剂性,可以制造一系列的日用品,如以非增韧的尼龙66注塑成的气体打火机和气雾剂喷嘴、太阳镜片、梳子、纽扣等。增韧的尼龙66用于制造冰鞋、滑雪板零件、网球拍线套、帆板连接器等。玻纤增强增韧尼龙66用于自行车轮、刀柄和枪托的生产中。
在家具行业中,也经常采用尼龙66制造的连接件、装饰品、抽屉滑轮、滑轨等。另外,大量的用品用具也直接以尼龙66来制造,如:齿轮、扇叶、缝纫机凸轮、洗衣机脚,一些以汽油为动力的机械,如割草机。军事上,刺刀鞘、密件套和火药带等。
在建筑业,PA66用于制作自动扶梯栏杆、自动门横栏、窗框架、门滑轮等等。
在包装业,PA66可以用于制作膜和多层膜、烘烤食品的容器等。PA66薄膜氧气透过率小,具有防止内装物氧化变质的功能,而且耐油性、耐低温冲击性优良,可用于肉、火腿、虾等食品的包装,市场发展前景看好。
